Recycled Sunglasses Wholesale

We are proud to announce that over 50% of our sunglasses collection is made from recycled post-consumer materials. Solo Solis is GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified by Control Union under license number CB-CUC- 1201437. GRS checks the entire chain of production on the origin of the components.

What means post-consumer recycled sunglasses? In general it means the polycarbonate parts are made from recycled polycarbonate (rPC) car lampshades and water containers. Other frames are made from recycled polyester (rPCTG) originating from recycled bottles, bottle caps and food containers. The lenses are made from recycled PMMA (rPMMA) which comes from recycled display stands, optical waveguides and optical lenses. Post-consumer means the goods have been used before, are collected for the purpose of recycling and used so.

Metal parts are not recycled, which means for metal sunglasses only the lenses and temple tips can be made from recycled materials. On the product pages you can see which parts are made of what component.

Technically it's not possible to produce all sunglasses designs in recycled materials, but we try to produce as many styles as possible as wholesale recycled sunglasses.
